This 1986 Buick Grand National was delivered new to Schepel Buick, Inc. of Merrillville, Indiana, and was previously listed on BaT in July 2021 and a sold on BaT in May 2023 before it was acquired by the selling dealer in 2025. Power comes from a turbocharged and intercooled 3.8-liter V6 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and the car is finished in black over two-tone black and Sand Gray cloth upholstery. Factory equipment includes a TurboTweak computer chip, 15” chrome wheels, front and rear spoilers, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo, and a security system along with air conditioning, cruise control, and power door locks and windows. The car is finished in black and features front and rear spoilers, an automatic power antenna, sport mirrors, a rear window defogger, dual exhaust outlets, and Grand National badges on the fenders and trunk lid. Flaws include a ding near the front edge of the hood and a blemish on the passenger-side door. Close-up photos are provided in the gallery.

Factory 15″ wheels feature a bright finish with black accents and are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires measuring 215/65. One of the wheels was reportedly replaced by the first owner and shows a 1988 date code. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and corrosion is present on the suspension components.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black and Sand Gray cloth, with Turbo 6 embroidery on the front seat headrests. Interior appointments include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, a factory security system, a carpeted trunk, and a Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo with a graphic equalizer.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a horizontal 85-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge along with a digital tachometer and boost pressure gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles, a handful of which have been added by the selling dealer. A 2023 Carfax report entry displays a mileage entry of 99,999 miles.

The turbocharged and intercooled 3.8-liter V6 was factory rated at 235 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. A TurboTweak computer chip has been installed and recent work consisted of replacing the battery and hood strut and performing an oil change.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The catalytic converter is missing its heat shield and there is a hole in the muffler.

The window sticker shows initial delivery to Schepel Buick, Inc. of Merrillville, Indiana, as well as factory colors, equipment, and a total amount of $17,601. Manufacturer’s literature is included in the sale along with a 1990 recall notice for the brake combination valve.
