Germany Says Euro Can Have Stronger Role in Global Trade

Germany’s Finance Minister Joerg Kukies says the European Union has a chance “to give stronger weight to the euro in global trade.” He made the comments in an interview with Bloomberg’s Oliver Crook on the sidelines of an informal meeting of the EU’s finance ministers in Warsaw. “For that we would need an initiative from Europe to reach out to other regions of the world to speed up the conclusion of free trade agreements,” Kukies added.
