Jaguar Land Rover’s entire portfolio currently runs on internal combustion engines in India. That is likely to change in 2026, as the company could introduce two electric models, the Range Rover Electric and the Jaguar Electric 4-door GT, marking its re-entry into the electric luxury segment. Here’s what we know so far.
- Range Rover Electric to feature 800V architecture with a 530km range target.
- Jaguar’s electric 4-door GT might deliver over 700km range on the new JEA platform.
2026 Range Rover Electric
Launch: By H1 2026; Price: Rs 3 crore (est.); Battery: 118kWh
After a significant delay, the all-electric Range Rover is finally set to launch in 2026. It will use a 118kWh NMC battery and dual motors – one on each axle – for a combined 550hp and 850Nm. An 800V architecture enables charging speeds of up to 350kW, and while it hasn’t been homologated yet, Range Rover is targeting a WLTP range of 530km.

Styling-wise, it’s almost identical to its ICE counterpart, with only subtle grille tweaks to set it apart. The cabin, too, remains largely unchanged, with JLR ensuring the BEV powertrain doesn’t intrude on passenger or cargo space. Both standard and long-wheelbase versions are planned.
The flagship Range Rover SV will also spawn a few special editions, including the stealthy Black Edition and a yet-to-be-revealed SV Ultra. The smaller Range Rover Sport SV is poised to get at least two special editions of its own – the sinister Black Edition and the lightened Carbon Edition. The 2026 Range Rover is expected to be priced around Rs 3 crore, with a launch likely in the second half of 2026.
2026 Jaguar Electric 4-door GT
Expected to launch in H2 2026

Jaguar is fast-tracking development of its electric 4-door GT, which is set for a global debut in late 2026, with an India launch to follow. Built on a new dedicated EV platform called JEA (Jaguar Electric Architecture), the car will be produced in Solihull in the UK. According to Autocar UK, it will offer a range of over 700km and around 580hp. Details remain scarce, though a heavily camouflaged prototype spotted testing in the UK revealed its long and low stance. The design will draw cues from the Type 00 concept: an upright nose leading into a long, flat bonnet, a sloping roofline, and a short decklid – these together form the classic 4-door GT silhouette. The 2026 Jaguar electric 4-door GT is likely to be launched in the second half of 2026.
